How can I send you a donation?

You can send us a check made out to Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation. Then mail your check to:

Can I make a credit card donation over the phone?

Yes! Please call (206) 987-2153 or (800) 635-1432. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards. You make also make a donation online.

How old do I need to be to volunteer?

Minimum Age Requirements:

  • Prospective volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer at the hospital in a non-patient area.
  • 16 years of age to have patient contact in the playroom or clinics.
  • Over 18 years of age for other patient areas. Please review the volunteer opportunities age requirements for specific departments.

Note: A signed parent permission form is required for all volunteers who are under 18 years old.

Can you please send me a volunteer application in the mail?

Application packets are only available at our volunteer orientations. Sufficient time is allotted during the orientation to complete the packet.

Do you have a baby rocking program?

We don't offer a baby rocking program. Volunteers in our Child Life Playroom interact with a variety of children of all age groups, including infants.

How do I find out when your next orientation is?

Please call (206) 987-2155 or contact us. Please let us know whether you prefer to volunteer during weekday hours (before 3 p.m.), evening hours (after 3 p.m.), or on weekends.

Do you offer opportunities for volunteers doing Court Mandated Service?

We do not offer volunteer opportunities for court-ordered service.

How do I deliver my non-monetary donation?

Donations may be left with the Volunteer Office, located near the Giraffe entrance, in room G-1010. The receptionist will accept the donation and ask you to complete a Gift Memo.

May I deliver my gift directly to a patient?

We're sorry, but because of concerns for patients privacy, and in order to provide infection control and security, donors are not permitted to visit patient floors.

Due to infection control issues, we are only able to give our patients newly purchased items. Used clothing, toys, furniture, and household items can be donated to one of our thrift stores. View a list of toys we would like to receive.

What is a guild?

Do I have to raise a certain amount of money to be approved to start a guild?

No. Our guilds all raise varying amounts of money for Children's Hospital. Every dollar counts! We do appreciate knowing what your guild plans to do for fundraisers, and we have staff to help you with additional information to make the most of your guild projects and events.

Is there a minimum number of guild members required to start a new guild?

While we do not require a minimum number of members for starting a new guild, we highly recommend that you have at least the recommended and required guild officers. The positions of President, Co-President, Treasurer are required, and we recommend that you also have a Secretary and Membership Chair.

If my guild cannot meet every month, is this a problem?

We recommend that guilds meet monthly, but recognize that some guilds just simply cannot. Use your best judgment, and meet as often as you feel works best for your guild.

If we want to contact the media on behalf of our guilds event or project, should we ask permission of the Guild Association first?

Please contact the Guild Association first. Guild staff are available to guide you in any media pursuits or contacts you wish to make on behalf of your guilds activities, or on behalf of Children's Hospital. They can be reached at (206) 987-2153.
