How to Start a Guild
- Gather a circle of friends with a common interest. Does your group live in the same block or neighborhood? Do you and your group know the same Children's patient? Do you all love golf, knitting, motorcycles or good food and wine? Does your group have a desire to raise money for a specific cause at the hospital?
- Consider leadership. Initially, designate a president, vice president, secretary and a treasurer.
- Complete and submit the New Guild Profile.
- Grow your group. What about organizing a wine and cheese tasting or a dessert event to invite others to join your guild?
- Make a plan. What is your goal for the first year? Organizing one event or two? How much money would you like to raise? Guild Association staff can help you learn ways to meet your goals.
- Get support and stay in touch. Guild Association staff can provide advice and a wide range of support. We will check in with you to make sure you are on the right track.
